# FoundRate

> FoundRate is a Shopify app that checks whether AI shopping assistants like ChatGPT recommend a merchant's products when shoppers ask what to buy. It shows which competitors get recommended instead and gives plain-English fixes that improve the merchant's AI shopping visibility.

## What FoundRate does

- Imports a Shopify store's product catalog automatically on install (read-only access, products only).
- Generates the realistic buyer-intent questions a shopper would ask an AI assistant (for example "best ceramic pour-over coffee maker under $50").
- Asks ChatGPT those questions and records whether the merchant's store is recommended, at what position, and which competitors are named instead.
- Reports an AI Found Rate (share of buyer searches where the store was recommended) and a Completeness Score (0 to 100, how readable the product data is to AI).
- Produces a prioritized, plain-English Fix Plan per product: expand thin descriptions, add photos, set product type and tags, fix pricing, expose Product JSON-LD structured data, restock or hide out-of-stock items.
- On the paid plan, re-scans tracked products weekly and emails the merchant when visibility changes.

## Pricing

- Free: one full scan, up to 5 products, ChatGPT surface.
- Pro Monthly: $49/month. Up to 20 tracked products, weekly monitoring, competitor names, email alerts, up to 2 manual re-scans per day (20 per month).
- Pro Annual: $490/year (two months free).
- Billing is handled entirely through Shopify. There is no separate account or login.

## Important honest caveats

- FoundRate measures and guides; it cannot guarantee that any AI assistant will recommend a store.
- AI systems re-check stores every few days to a few weeks, so fixes take time to show up in answers.
